Scholarship Recipients

 

Patriotism Scholarship

Rachel Strieber a Villa Madonna graduate was awarded $2,500.  Rachel’s father served 28 years in the US Military including combat tours in Lebanon and Desert Storm.

Law Enforcement Scholarship

Carmen Hogan a graduate of Cooper High School was awarded a $2,500 scholarship to continue her education at Northern Kentucky University. Carmen’s father has been a law enforcement officer for more than 20 years and continues to serve today.

Fire Department Scholarship

Noah Sell was awarded $2,500.  Noah’s father served more than 20 years in local fire service.

Patriotism Scholarship

Emily Bleska a Conner High School graduate was awarded $2,500. Emily is currently serving in the US Military.

Law Enforcement Scholarship

Sarah Wermeling a Cooper High School graduate was awarded $2,500.  Sarah’s father served more than 28 years in local law enforcement.

Fire Department Scholarship

Emily Cammack an Owen County High School graduate was awarded $2,500.  Emily’s father has served more than 20 year in the fire service and is currently the Jonesville Fire Chief.

Patriotism Scholarship

Kirsten Parker was a Patriotism scholarship award recipient.  Kirsten will be attending the University of Louisville in the fall.  Kirsten received $5,000 towards continuing her education.

Law Enforcment Scholarship

Brendan Scanlon was a Law Enforcement scholarship award recipient.  Brendan attended Ryle High School and will be attending Northern Kentucky University in the fall.  Brendan is the son of Sgt. Bill Samad of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.  Brendan  received $5,000 towards continuing his education.

Fire Department Scholarship

Lauren Auteri was a Fire Department scholarship award recipient.  Lauren will be attending the University of Kentucky in the fall.  Lauren’s father is Chief Michael Auteri of the Bellevue-Dayton Fire Department.  Lauren received $5,000 towards continuing her education.

Scholarship Recipient

Jane Rudnick attended Notre Dame Academy where she played in the band, was on student council, participated in the Teen Leadership Club and earned a 3.47 GPA.  She is a published poet, volunteers at the Covington Soup Kitchen, and was Finalist in the National History Competition. Jane was awarded $1000 towards her continuing education.

Military Scholarship

Connor Taylor attended Boone County High School and was our  award winner. Conner was on the Youth Service Center Advisory Council and is the son of a former US ARMY Ranger.  Conner was awarded $4,000 towards his education at EKU.

Patrotism Scholarship

Brady Williams was awarded a $2500 Patriotism Scholarship after he ran onto the football field at Little Miami High School carrying the “The Thin Blue Line” flag on September 11th, 2000. Brady showed his support for law enforcement and was later recognized by the President of the United States. While Brady was criticized for his actions he will always be regarded as a true patriot by Holiday for Heroes.

Jarad Bently was awarded a $2,500 Patriotism Scholarship after he ran onto the football field at Little Miami High School carrying the “The Thin Red Line” flag on September 11th, 2000. Jarad showed his support for firefighters and was later recognized by the President of the United States. While Jarad was criticized for his actions he will always be regarded as a true patriot by Holiday for Heroes.

Fire Department Scholarship

Jenna Gripshover was awarded a $2,500 Fire Department Scholarship. Jenna is graduating Cum Laude from Ryle High School. While at Ryle, she was a member of the National Honor Society, Math Honor Society, English Honor Society, and the Career and Technical Honor Society. She was an athlete on the archery team and the softball team and a member of the Honor Wind Symphony. She will be pursuing a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and Psychology at the University of Kentucky.

Patriotism Scholarship

Cate Hardcorn was awarded the Patriotism Scholarship for $2,500. Cate was born and raised in Cold Spring, Kentucky where she attended Campbell County High School.  Cate was a competitive dancer for 13 years and currently works at an animal hospital as she prepares to study Animal Sciences at EKU. Cate’s long-term goal is to become a veterinarian and own her own animal hospital. Cate’s hobbies include weightlifting, reading, attending events at her church and spending time with her friends, family and dog Ruby.

Law Enforcement Scholarship

Taylor Adams was awarded the Law Enforcement Scholarship of $2,500. Taylor attended Conner High School where she was a varsity athlete, member of Men and Women of Conner, and maintained a 4.0 GPA. She is pursuing a Biology degree with a focus in Law Enforcement and Environmental Studies at Northern Kentucky University.
